Think even more piny and medicinal than Fernet. Dark and bitter, “bitter” being the operative word. Hungarians drink it before, after, and during dinner.
Note: If you're Hungarian, this IS the liqueur that you are accustomed to that has the label Unicum on the label. Long, boring story, but they had to change the labeling for the US market after they had been marketing another lighter version made for Americans under the Unicum label. The one we are selling here is what you know as Unicum back home.
